Ways to Give
Development and Alumni Relations
Giving can be structured in a variety of ways to meet both your philanthropic and personal financial goals.
The Annual Giving program within the School of Medicine provides an opportunity for alumni and friends to give back to the school on a recurring basis. Unrestricted funds from this program provide scholarship, programmatic and capital support that wouldn't be feasible without the generosity of many alumni and friends of the school. Annual gifts allow the school to realize its goals of enriching medical education for future students. Although there are formal mail and phone solicitations, gifts can be made to the annual fund throughout the year.
An endowment is a permanent fund established for a specific purpose, whether for faculty, student, or program support. You may designate the fund in your own name, as a tribute to a friend or loved one, or to honor a professor or mentor. You can establish an endowment with cash, securities, real estate, or through a bequest. Gifts to endowments are invested to create a lasting resource that grows in perpetuity. By generating a steady stream of income while leaving the principal untouched, endowments make it possible for School of Medicine to respond to unforeseen opportunities and to ensure the financial security and continued success of the school.
