The Sports Medicine clinic focuses on common sports injuries and treatment options. Each session features a didactic presentation on a variety of topics, as well as provides a forum to discuss challenging patient cases with colleagues and experts.

Our Team

  • Kara Radzak, PhD, ATC. Dr. Radzak integrates clinical, biomechanical, and practice-based research methods to evaluate the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries in military members. In addition, her biomechanical research evaluates the influence of fatigued state movement on musculoskeletal injury risk, particularly overuse injuries of the knee and osteoarthritis. Radzak earned her bachelor’s in kinesiology-athletic training from the University of Texas at Austin, her master’s in sports medicine from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and her Ph.D. in education-kinesiology from the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
  • Carol Scott, M.D. Dr. Scott is the former Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship at the School of Medicine, Team Physician, and Current Assistant Director for the Student Health Center at the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Scott is Board Certified in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine and Adolescent Medicine. She has worked with student-athletes in Nevada since 1994. Dr. Scott grew up in Winnemucca and is always excited to bring her expertise in Sports Medicine to Project ECHO!
