School of Medicine’s Class of 2017 to learn residency ‘match’ results
Media invited to attend ‘Match Day’ on Friday, March 17 in Reno, Las Vegas

- WHAT: Sixty-seven medical students at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine will learn where they will receive their residency training on Friday, March 17 at 9 a.m. when students on both Reno and Las Vegas campuses learn the results from the National Resident Matching Program. The National Resident Matching Program is a private, not-for-profit corporation that provides an impartial venue for matching applicants' and programs' preferences for each other by reviewing their individualized rank order lists.
Media are invited to attend the announcement ceremony in Reno or Las Vegas.

- WHY: Residency training location is a strong indication of where physicians will set up their medical practice following completion of residency and has significant implications for the availability of future health care professionals in a given area.
