What is a Community Faculty Member?

Office for Community Faculty

A community faculty member is a local health care industry leader. They have extensive experience in healing patients and work in a hospital, private practice, or rural setting. Retired health care workers are welcome to become members as well. These health care leaders volunteer their time to assist in training future physicians at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. There are a number of ways for community faculty members to get involved, but any time spent with students is a rewarding experience. Community faculty members understand the importance of teaching medical students to be exceptional healthcare providers and enjoy the benefits of partnering with the first public medical school in Nevada.

If you're interested in becoming a Community Faculty member, please fill out our Community Faculty application or make an appointment to learn more about the benefits.
