Colon and Rectal Surgery

Patient Care

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine's fellowship-trained, board-certified colon and rectal surgeons are skilled in treating rectal cancer, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, complex anorectal surgery, pelvic floor dysfunction and fecal incontinence. We offer prevention services, screenings and cancer and disease evaluation and care.

As a part of a tertiary care referral center, our surgeons provide advanced options such as laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, transanal minimal invasive surgery for advanced polyps and early rectal cancer, and sacral nerve stimulation for fecal incontinence. Patients also have access to ongoing prospective divisional and national research trials.

Primary care for colorectal diseases is offered through an office-based hemorrhoid treatment center and a referral line for screening colonoscopies.

Our colon and rectal surgeons are promoters of less invasive surgical techniques including conventional laparoscopic, single incision "no scar" laparoscopic, transanal endoscopic and robotic techniques. The faster we can get our patients feeling well again, with minimal recovery time and less pain, the better. At the School of Medicine, we use the latest techniques and research to evaluate and diagnose your colon and rectal medical issues. Don't wait until it's too late; come meet with our specialists today.
