Hand Therapy

Patient Care

University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine hand therapists are dedicated to helping improve the quality of life of those with pain, stiffness, instability, weakness and sensitivity of the body's upper extremity. Our occupational therapists have certified hand therapy training and are committed to improving the mobility and function in patients.

Our experienced hand therapists have years of experience in the rehabilitation of the upper extremity. School of Medicine hand therapists work with each patient individually to assess the injury or pain and develop comprehensive and effective care to restoring function in the hand. It's their goal to enhance the patient's ability to once again have full function in their hand.

Some may think of hand therapy as just exercise, but our hand therapy specialists also provide education and information on preventing injury and maintaining your health. Hand therapists guide patients through training and mobility exercises to restore functionality and reduce pain in the upper extremity. They develop strong relationships with their patients to ensure an understanding and good communication about pain, discomfort and how to develop the most effective therapy plan.

Whether patients are suffering from fractures, amputations, tendonitis, carpal tunnel, arthritis, or other injuries, our certified hand therapists can assist and support the journey to improved mobility. Our specialists are committed to training patients to resume daily activities.
