Why Apply to the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Physician Assistant Studies Program?

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Physician Assistant Studies Program (UNR Med PA Program) is the first PA program in the Nevada System of Higher Education. Our goal is to provide a high-quality rigorous education through solid curriculum, interprofessional educational experiences, and strong alignment with the UNR Med Department of Family and Community Medicine. The program's philosophy is to teach not only the required biosciences, clinical assessment, medical foundation, ethics and social aspects of health, but equally important, the philosophy, culture, and professional role of PAs to produce quality long-term committed PAs to serve the primary care needs of the diverse population in underserved and rural Nevada.

Next Application Cycle (April 27, 2024 - September 1, 2024)

The UNR Med PA Program 2024-2025 CASPA application cycle opens April 27, 2024. Matriculation for this next cohort will begin summer of 2025 (Class of 2027).

All application prerequisites and requirements must be complete and verified by the application deadline of September 1, 2024. **Please note, CASPA closes their portal at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time and any application received after that time will not be considered.

Applications and supporting documents will only be accepted through the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA). The application fee is based upon the number of programs to which an applicant applies. Please refer to CASPA for information on fees and waivers.
