Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a peer-lead tutoring program offered to all medical students. SI leaders are successful students who are recommended by academic faculty and are trained in teaching modalities to conduct these sessions. SI sessions are offered in:
- Blocks 1-11
- Anatomy lab
- Step 1 preparation
- Internal medicine clerkship
- Family Medicine clerkship
- OB/GYN clerkship
- Surgery clerkship
- Pediatric clerkship
SI leaders for the first year curriculum are chosen by July 1st. Applications can be submitted any time during the year. Applicants must have a letter of recommendation from the Block director and must be a student in good standing. If you are interested in applying to be a SI leader click on the link below to apply:
Supplemental Instruction for Clerkship Elective: MED 661-T
SI leaders for the second and third year curriculum are chosen by May 1st. Applications can also be submitted any time during the year. Applicants must be recommended by the clerkship or Block director and be a student in good standing.
Training for all SI leaders is mandatory.
