The School of Medicine has put together a list of scholarships in which you may be eligible for. If you qualify for a need-based scholarship, please fill out the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Scholarship Application.
Scholarship and Grant Resources
- Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarships - The Army, Navy, and Air Force have health profession scholarship programs, referred to as HPSP, or AFHPSP scholarship for the Air Force, to help you pay for your education in a medical field.
- National Health Services Corps (NHSC) - The NHSC Scholarship Program (SP) awards scholarships to students pursuing careers in primary care. Students commit to serving for two to four years upon graduation and completion of training. Allopathic and osteopathic medical students in their fourth year at an accredited medical school are eligible to apply.
- National Women's Fund - The mission of the NAWF is dedicated to strengthening the community by empowering women to improve their lives and those of their families. NWF works with community donors and supporters to raise financial contributions and other resources to support northern Nevada women and families. We identify critical social needs and address them through award of individual education scholarships and grant making to northern Nevada non-profit organizations that share the NWF mission to strengthen and empower our community.
Phil and Jennifer Satre Medical Education Scholarship - The Phil and Jennifer Satre Medical Education Scholarship is established to provide financial assistance for college students with the intent to pursue or who are already pursuing a medical degree. The Satres recognize the importance of having qualified medical professionals ready and willing to serve the great state of Nevada. This scholarship provides support from the junior undergraduate year through medical school for individuals who are committed to pursuing a medical degree-and with the intent to practice in Nevada
