Events and Protocol

Advancement and Engagement

Please use careful consideration if planning any events with the ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic. On March 24, Governor Sisolak signed a directive limiting public gatherings to 10 people or fewer. As the situation continues to evolve, the city, state or university may extend the moratorium prohibiting events and gatherings. For the University's most current event advisory visit Coronavirus Updates.
The University has been consistent in complying with restrictions implemented at the state and national levels. Opening Up America Again's guidelines indicate social settings of more than 50 people, where appropriate distancing may not be practical, should be avoided unless precautionary measures are observed through phase 2.
Event planning for groups may require additional considerations in light of public health recommendations related to communicable illnesses. If you are planning an event, we recommend referencing this veteran event professional's guidelines for creating safe mass gatherings in the era of coronavirus. Also, careful consideration in negotiating contracts and cancellations is advised. As always, please engage with UNR Med's legal team if you are negotiating any contract. A UNR Med Zoom tutorial is available here if you are considering this platform for a virtual event.
