Special notice to our clients, patients, students, volunteers and friends

The Sanford Center for Aging is taking seriously the public health concerns about the COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) and the special risks this poses to elders, adults living with chronic diseases, and those who work with them. While doing everything possible to avoid panic or rash action, we are taking all prudent precautions to reduce the spread of the virus. This means we are suspending all our group programs, large events and other activities, and will seek alternate ways to deliver these programs and services.

About the clinic

The Sanford Geriatrics Specialty Clinic offers a comprehensive geriatric assessment and support center for elders. Our specialty care clinic offers a "whole person" assessment and chronic care management services, provided by a multidisciplinary team, centered around the goals, strengths and needs of each client.

Often, elders experience appointments with multiple doctors who don't always collaborate on the patient's care. This can lead to confusing diagnoses, prescriptions and evaluations, leaving patients frustrated and confused. The Sanford Geriatrics Specialty Clinic can help alleviate some of this stress by providing a complete assessment of all the patient's health care needs under one roof.

The clinic staff at the Sanford Center work closely with the patient's primary care provider to develop a comprehensive assessment and care plan. The clinic serves patients who may have a wide range of health concerns including arthritis, dementia, depression, high blood pressure, frailty and more. Even when poor health is not a factor, we still encourage patients to visit the Sanford Center for information about our other programs that can enhance a healthy lifestyle.

The comprehensive geriatric assessment at the Sanford Geriatrics Specialty Clinic can help alleviate the stress and confusion that can come with caring for an elderly person. We are committed to improving the health and well-being of our patients and communicate their care with family, loved ones and health care providers. Contact our staff to learn more about the support they can provide throughout the aging process.
