This public workshop has ended, but stay tuned for future dates!

Healthy Steps for Older Adults (HSOA) is a free, small group workshop proven to reduce falls. The workshop also provides steps to make homes safer, manage medicines and learn how to improve strength, balance and overall fitness, along with providing other resources to help prevent falls.

Best of all, these workshops are interactive and fun!

HSOA workshops are for any older adult who wants to maintain mobility and independence.

Participants meet for two, 2.5-hour educational sessions, with lunch served in between sessions. Workshops are facilitated by trained leaders and provide a safe and positive learning experience.

The workshop includes:

  • Fall risk screening tests
  • Exercises to improve strength and balance and stay active
  • Education on how to prevent falls, including environmental safety, nutrition, medications, home safety and more
The first workshop is March 11, 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Sparks Library, 1125 12th Street.
