Who Should Attend

The 2019 Western Region Flex Conference will provide opportunities for CAH administrators and staff, state Flex program staff, and rural health care leaders to share information and best practices with their peers in the western region of the United States. The conference will also provide an opportunity for participants to learn about the latest state and national health policy developments and their impact on CAHs and other rural health care providers.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss public policy issues affecting CAHs and other rural health care providers, both nationally and in the western region of the United States
  • Identify how the delivery of inpatient and outpatient services provided by Critical Access Hospitals is changing and how CAHs can position themselves in this challenging environment
  • Identify ways in which MBQIP data is being utilized to improve health care and patient safety for rural populations


The registration fee includes two breakfasts, one lunch, and social reception. The registration deadline is June 6th.

Student Rate: $250
Early Registration Fee (on or before May 15, 2019): $350
Late Registration Fee (May 16 - June 5, 2019): $450

CME Accreditation and Designation

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses may receive continuing education credit for this educational activity as the ANCC accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM through its reciprocity agreement.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing by the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, Office of Continuing Medical Education by June 5, 2019 will receive a full refund less a $75 administrative fee. Cancellations after June 5, 2019 are non-refundable.
