Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorder

Reno, Nevada

Includes Waiver Qualifying Requirements
Blended course - Four Hours Live and Four Hours Online

Earn AB474 Credit! Nevada licensed physicians and physician assistants must complete 2 hours of training related to the misuse and abuse of controlled substances, the prescribing of opioids, or addiction during each licensure period.

This course covers all medications and treatments for opioid use disorder and provides the required 8-hours of education that physicians need in order to obtain the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine. This is a two-part 8-hour blended course combining 4 hours of live in-person learning and 4 hours of self-study online learning. The online portion of the course is provided by the Providers Clinical Support System (PCSS). Soon after completing the live course, participants will receive a link from PCSS with instructions to complete the online self-study course on their own. You must complete both sections in order to be eligible to apply for a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine.

Nurse practitioners and physician assistants are required to complete additional hours of training in order to apply for the waiver. This course provides the first 8-hours of training. The additional hours may be completed online through PCSS after the completion of this course. See the PCSS website for additional information.
