National Hispanic Medical Association – Nevada Chapter is dedicated to empowering Hispanic/Latinx physicians and providers to be leaders who will help eliminate health disparities and improve the health of the Hispanic/Latinx Community. The state of Nevada has a rapidly growing Hispanic/Latinx community that accounts for 30% of our state's population. The Latinx community has very specific needs that require culturally sensitive, equitable, and frequently bilingual/multilingual care. This conference is intended to empower those passionate about serving this growing community.
Learners will enhance their knowledge around health and equity impacting the Latinx community. There will be knowledge sharing. The Nevada National Hispanic Medical Association and interested community members will have an opportunity to network and meet, therefore creating a community-building event for the Latinx medical community.
Following participation in this course, participants should be able to:
NHMA members, providers passionate about serving the Latinx community, and premedical and medical students interested in the topic.
