Leslie A. Greenberg M.D., FAAFP: Biography/Education

Associate Professor, Residency Associate Program Director

Department of Family and Community Medicine

  • M.D. - University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine
  • B.A. - Northwestern University, Chicago

I lived my first 6 years in Wisconsin while my dad was a surgery resident. Then, we settled in Reno where I graduated from Reno High. I studied psychology and pre-med at Northwestern University in Chicago and returned to attend University of Nevada School of Medicine. I met my husband, Mark Stovak MD, during our med school's orientation week. We couples-matched in family medicine in Wichita, Kansas where we learned full-breadth family medicine. His sports medicine fellowship took us to Muncie, Indiana where I worked on faculty at their family medicine residency program. I then took a job back in Wichita at my previous program where I worked a 3-day week, did inpatient and outpatient medicine, delivered babies, and performed over 1000 EGDs and colonoscopies. We had our three children in Kansas and then moved back to Reno in 2015 to join their faculty. I love my old stomping grounds and the outdoor mountain fun.

Passions/hobbies: Family activities, watching my kids' sporting events, crafting, furniture rehab, baking, skiing and blogging.

Why UNR? The people. The camaraderie.
