The Sanford Center for Aging (SCA) geriatric specialty clinical team can help enhance your ability to care for your older patients by providing up-to-date screening tools, assessments, best practices and resources for you, your patients, and caregivers.

Our team

• Dylan Wint, M.D. Dylan Wint, MD, joined Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in May 2010. His clinical interest is optimizing the diagnosis and management of neurodegenerative disorders. Dr. Wint earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at Stanford University and the University of Miami. He completed simultaneous residencies in Neurology and Psychiatry at the University of Florida, and fellowships in deep brain stimulation and integrative neuroimaging at the University of Florida and the National Institutes of Health.
• Jennifer Carson, Ph.D., M.P.H. Jennifer is Director of the Dementia Engagement, Education and Research (DEER) Program in the School of Community Health Sciences at the University of Nevada, Reno. Jennifer currently spends much of her time working with tribal, rural and urban communities across the state as Project Director of the Dementia Friendly Nevada initiative, sponsored by the State of Nevada Aging and Disability Services Division, and teaching professional and family care partners as the author and facilitator of Bravo Zulu. Jennifer received her Ph.D. in Recreation and Leisure Studies (Aging, Health and Well-Being) from the University of Waterloo and her MS in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management (Therapeutic Recreation) from Clemson University.
• Kelly Presser, MSN, RN, CNL. Kelly works as the Clinical Nurse Leader in the Community Living Center at the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System in Reno, Nevada. She is dedicated to promoting best practices and improving outcomes throughout the VA, especially for the geriatric population. As a CNL, Kelly has worked on numerous evidence-based practice projects with a special focus on long-term indwelling catheter management, pain reduction and dementia care. She has over eight years of experience working with veterans and she is currently the coordinator for the STAR-VA dementia management program. Kelly obtained her BSN at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA and her MSN at the University of San Francisco. 
• Leslie Baker, PharmD, BCGP. Leslie is the Director of Geriatric Pharmacy services at the Sanford Center for Aging and serves as the Certified Geriatric Pharmacist as part of the interdisciplinary team at the Sanford Geriatrics Specialty Care clinic and through a community-based Medication Therapy Management program. She also provides education to the community, students and medical professionals through programs at the Sanford Center for Aging. Her areas of special interest include diabetes, falls prevention, and integrative health and medicine.
• Peter Reed, Ph.D., M.P.H. Peter joined the University of Nevada, Reno as Director of the Sanford Center for Aging and Professor of Community Health Sciences in September 2013. Peter received both a Ph.D. and MPH in Health Behavior and Health Education from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a National Institute on Aging Pre-Doctoral Fellow in the Carolina Program on Healthcare and Aging Research. He is also a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kentucky, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Sociology.
• Patti Swager, M.Ed. Patti serves as the Director of Clinical Education and the Director of the Nevada Geriatric Education Center at the SCA. She earned her gerontology certificate and her master's degree in education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has been active in the field of aging since 1992.  She works in collaboration with the clinical team to develop clinical education opportunities for current and future health professionals. She also provides presentations on ageism and health literacy.
• Shelby Green, LCSW, MSW. Shelby is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master’s degree in social work from University of Nevada, Reno. Shelby graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from San Francisco State University. She currently serves as Coordinator of Clinical Services at the Sanford Center for Aging and is a member of the Sanford Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment team. Shelby’s background includes working in acute care settings specializing in crisis intervention, distress tolerance, and aging peacefully. Shelby’s mission is to decrease the emotional burden on patients and their families as they navigate the often-complex medical system. Shelby is dedicated to working with aspiring medical professionals and UNR students in the community.
• Stephanie McMullen, LCSW. Stephanie is a clinical social worker specializing in hospice and palliative care, intellectual disability and mental health wellness with 20+ years of experience in Northern Nevada. She currently serves as Coordinator of Clinical Services at the Sanford Center for Aging and is a member of the Sanford Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment Team. She obtained her MSW from the University of Nevada, Reno and trained at Mojave Mental Health and VA Sierra Nevada Healthcare System for clinical licensure. Stephanie is also a foster and adoptive parent offering additional empathy for those in caretaking roles.  
• Steve Phillips, M.D. Dr. Phillips has worked in the field of primary and long-term care medicine for frail and vulnerable elderly for the past 35 years as a clinician, educator, researcher and administrator. Since 2001, he has served on the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Geriatric Measurement Advisory Panel (GMAP). Dr. Phillips is the Founder of Geriatric Specialty Care of Nevada (GSCN). GSCN is a home based primary care practice that serves the needs of elderly in private residence, assisted living and group care homes. He enjoys spending time with family and playing guitar on his ranch near Pyramid Lake.
