We are Nevada's Leading Forum for interdisciplinary Palliative Care.

We aim to:

Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of palliative care providers in Nevada
Assemble a forum of health care practitioners throughout the state of Nevada whom Project ECHO supports and prepares to deliver basic palliative care
Raise the quality of life for Nevadans living with serious illness
Establish a resource of expertise and education for a diverse health care audience on practices, resources and policy in palliative care

This clinic is led by:

  • Jonathan McCaleb, MD, CMD, HMDC. Dr. McCaleb is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine in 2007, where he currently holds a faculty position as Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine. He completed his residency in Family and Community Medicine at UNRSOM in 2011, followed by fellowships in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Geriatric Medicine in 2012 and 2015, both at UNRSOM. Dr. McCaleb works as a full time staff physician for The Department of Veterans Affairs in the Reno VA's Community Living Center. He has extensive practice experience in Northern Nevada as a hospice medical director and palliative medicine consultant. In addition, he has been a two time recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Excellence in Teaching and Humanism Award and is board certified in Family Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
  • Kelly Conright, MD, CMD is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is an Associate Professor in Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM), is the Program Director for UNSOM's Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, and also serves as core faculty for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship. She is a member of the State of Nevada Advisory Council on Palliative Care and Quality of Life. Dr. Conright has co-authored academic book chapters about Technological Advances in Pain Management for the Elderly, and End of life Considerations for Homeless Elderly. She is a certified medical director, and has 20+ years' experience as a Medical Director for multiple community and VA based nursing homes. Dr. Conright is an attending physician who serves as a hospital and outpatient based palliative care consultant, attending physician in in the Community Living Center and inpatient hospice unit at the Reno VA Community Living Center for Geriatrics and Extended Care Services at the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System. She has special interests in education of communication skills , advanced care planning, and elder & end of life care in the nursing home setting.
  • Jessica Cate, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP. Dr. Cate is a board certified geriatric pharmacist and pharmacotherapy specialist. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2010 and obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Touro College of Pharmacy in 2014. She completed a one year post-graduate general pharmacy practice residency, followed by a one year post-graduate specialized geriatric pharmacy residency at the VA Sierra Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHCS). She is currently a geriatric clinical pharmacy specialist at the VASNHCS, working in the community living center and home based primary care, and also serves as a core member of the inpatient hospice and palliative care team. She is core faculty for the VA Geriatric Pharmacy Residency and precepts the education for hospice and palliative care for pharmacy residents and students. Her areas of interest are hospice and palliative care medicine, deprescribing, pain management, and symptom management at the end of life.
  • Kim Anderson is a Las Vegas native who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. In 1997, she joined CardioVison Inc., a privately held corporation, specializing in the development and medical co-management of joint ventures between providers and healthcare systems. In 2010, Kim found her passion serving the needs of Nevadan's with life limiting illness. She is currently the Vice President of Business Development for Harmony Hospice. Kim holds many board positions and volunteers as a champion for palliative care initiatives throughout Nevada. Kim has extensive expertise in policy, program development and administration of hospice and palliative programs in a variety of settings throughout the state of Nevada. She is extremely proud of her work with the State Advisory Council on Palliative Care and Quality Life as the Vice Chairman.
