  • "Integrating Patient-Centered Health Information into the Patient Centered Medical Home". Granting Agency: National Network of Libraries of Medicine. Amount $12,000. Co-Principle Investigator. This award will support a collaborative effort with the UNSOM Department of Family Medicine, Reno in developing web-based, patient-centered education programs. The project will explore the use of iPads in the clinical setting and their impact in improving physician-patient communication.
  • "Wilderness Exposure - Educating Children about the link between Environmental Health and Personal Health" Granting Agency: The Academy for the Environment. Amount: $4567. Principle Investigator. Well Women's Guideline Grant. IRB #720713-1. Wyeth-Pfizer through the State of Nevada, University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Date Awarded: July 1, 2015 - June 30, 2018. $355,508. Purpose of grant: To promote the use of the USPSTF screening guidelines for women's health. Providers at the intervention site will create an app to increase health literacy and promote appropriate timing of pap smears and mammograms.
