Welcome to the Yumei Feng Earley Laboratory
Cardiovascular diseases are a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels and include coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, rheumatic heart disease and other conditions. Hypertension is the most important risk factor for other cardiovascular diseases, including stroke, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure and chronic kidney diseases, and remains the number one cause of morbidity and mortality in the US. Currently, there is no cure for hypertension and for 95% of patients, causes are unknown. We are investigating the novel mechanisms regulating the blood pressure and cardiovascular metabolic diseases by the brain, and developing new therapeutics.
