Medical Education

  • Small class sizes: A cohort of just 70 students allows for personalized and individual experiences with the opportunity to develop strong professional relationships with faculty, staff and fellow students.
  • Student engagement: Our students actively contribute to UNR Med's culture of diversity and inclusion; serve as representatives on medical school committees responsible for curriculum, admissions, and medical education; and manage the Student Outreach Clinic which provides free medical attention to the uninsured or underinsured in Reno and our rural communities.
  • Learning support: Our on-site Learning, Wellness and Resource Center provides holistic services, resources in support of student's academic progression, and programs in support of health and well-being.

Post-Baccalaureate Program

The Post-Baccalaureate (post-bac) Certificate program at UNR Med is an early assurance admission program for individuals who require additional education in the sciences in order to be academically prepared for success in medical school.

Information Sessions

Throughout the year, UNR Med offers a variety of virtual and live events to provide prospective applicants with information about our medical school on how to navigate the admissions process.

Combined Degree Programs

Upon admission to the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, medical students have the opportunity to obtain dual degrees including the MD/MPH, MD/MBA or the MD/PhD.
