Free School of Medicine outreach clinic offered in December

Only one clinic offered for December due to holidays

RENO, Nev. — The University of Nevada School of Medicine's only Student Outreach Clinic for December will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 8 a.m. to noon. This will be a general clinic at which any uninsured person, adult or child, may attend.

The Student Outreach Clinic is a free service providing much needed care for Washoe County's medically uninsured population. General clinics offer physicals for work or school, EKGs, blood pressure monitoring, referrals and selected lab services at discounted fees.

Small fees averaging between $5 and $20 may apply to certain diagnostic services and patients are recommended to call ahead to learn more about blood services.

Under the direct supervision of licensed faculty physicians, medical students from the University of Nevada School of Medicine offer monthly Student Outreach Clinics which provide free care. No appointment is necessary for clinic patients who are seen on a first come, first served basis. Early arrival is recommended. Spanish translators are available as needed.

Clinics are held at University Health System's Family Medicine Center, located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus just north of Mackay Stadium off of North Virginia Street.
