WHAT: National and Nevada Rural Health Day celebration, presented by the University of Nevada School of Medicine and the State Office for Rural Health to honor and recognize 10 pioneers in Nevada rural health. Nevada Rural Health Day is a signature event of Nevada 150, Nevada's 150th anniversary of statehood celebration.

WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 21 at 1:30 p.m.

WHERE: St. Mary's Art & Retreat Center (on the site of historic St. Mary's Louise Hospital), 55 N. R St., Virginia City, Nevada

WHO: Honorees include: G.N. Christensen, M.D. of Ely; Warren Smith, M.D., of Boulder City; Galen Reimer, M.D. of Fallon; Robert Daugherty, M.D., professor and dean emeritus of the University of Nevada School of Medicine; Richard Munger, CEO, Mt. Grant General Hospital in Hawthorne; Marie Carrick, RN, of Ely; Mike Willden, director, Nevada Dept. of Health and Human Services; Joe Dini, former State Assemblyman from Yerington; John Marvel (posthumously), former State Assembly from Battle Mountain and Glenn Rose, of Lovelock.
