Scholars in Health Literacy deadline approaches

The School of Medicine's Nevada Geriatric Education Center, in collaboration with Touro University and the UNLV Division of Health Sciences, will offer a course in health literacy, or the ability to obtain, understand and apply health information for spring semester 2015.

This educational opportunity is directed toward academic professionals in medicine, nursing, social work, speech pathology, counseling, nutrition, psychology, public health and related allied health disciplines. It offers experiential training and coaching in health literacy through interdisciplinary collaboration.

The five-month commitment of approximately eight hours each month begins Jan. 21, 2015 and ends May 29, 2015.
