Memorial service planned for School of Medicine anatomical donors

Family and friends of donors invited to attend June 9 service

Students from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine's Class of 2020 will hold a memorial service to honor those who donated their bodies to the anatomical donation program for medical research and education. The service will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 9 at Walton's Funeral Home Chapel in Reno.

Family and friends of donors are invited to attend the service.

The memorial service will allow medical students to express their deepest appreciation for the individuals who donated their bodies to science and to their learning experience.

Walton's Funeral Home Chapel is located at 875 W. Second Street in Reno.

The anatomical donation program accepts donations from individuals from northern Nevada for anatomical research conducted at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. The program has been in operation since 1987, and offers medical students and faculty the opportunity for further research of the human body.
