University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Employees Take on New Roles

Christy Jerz named Communications Marketing Director and Seema Donahoe named Creative Director

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine announces two new posts in its Advancement and Engagement department with Christy Jerz named UNR Med’s communications marketing director and Seema Donahoe named as creative director.

In her new position, Jerz oversees integrated marketing and communications for the School of Medicine to increase UNR Med’s reputation and awareness with key audiences, including prospective students and faculty. Jerz manages advertising, social media, e-communications and publications, including , UNR Med’s magazine. Previously, she served as communications and public affairs specialist for the school.Prior to joining in 2016, Jerz worked for more than 11 years at the University of Nevada, Reno’s Office of Alumni Relations, including eight years as assistant director of alumni relations.

As creative director, Donahoe is responsible for overseeing the creative direction and development of UNR Med’s brand and design, from strategy to concept to execution. She maintains the UNR Med brand across all marketing, communications, web and digital platforms. Most recently, she worked as the director of development for the School of Medicine cultivating relationships and securing support from donors.

Donahoe joined UNR Med in 2015 after serving five years at Renown Health in marketing and development roles.

“Christy and Seema are dynamic professionals who bring a diverse and integrated approach to UNR Med’s marketing communications and advancement efforts,” said Julie Ardito, senior director of Advancement and Engagement at the School of Medicine. “I’m excited to see how they will advance UNR Med’s brand with multiple audiences through communications and marketing campaigns, events, fundraising and alumni engagement.”

Jerz and Donahoe both received their Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno.
