Amelia Lane has joined the Advancement and Engagement department at UNR Med as assistant director of development.

Amelia Lane has joined the Advancement and Engagement department at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) as assistant director of development.

In her role, Lane will support the School of Medicine through efforts to generate private philanthropic support for the school's fundamental missions of greater service to the community, sophisticated research and teaching initiatives, and a culture of diversity and inclusion.  She will serve as a key member of the development team in conducting major and annual gift campaigns, donor relations, foundation and corporate relations, and planned giving. She will also be active in scholarship programs and cultivate opportunities to keep UNR Med alumni engaged and connected to their alma mater.

Lane brings over seven years of development, foundation and event planning experience to UNR Med. She previously worked as a development officer for the Community Foundation of Western Nevada. Prior, she served as a marketing and development coordinator for STEP2, Inc., and as an assistant director of development for the Education Renaissance Initiative of Nevada.

Her diverse experience includes fundraising, metric planning and implementation, donor fund management and relations, strategic planning, and event development and planning.  

Lane graduated with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno, majoring in communication studies and psychology. She received a grant development and management certification from AmeriCorps, a social media and digital marketing certification from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a certified fund raising executive (CFRE).  

Her community involvement includes the Children's Cabinet, 4-H, Dress for Success and the Nevada Alumni Association and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
