Shari Netzel Director of Development

University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine names Shari Netzel as Director of Development and Alumni Relations

UNR Med has named Shari Netzel as director of development and alumni relations.

Netzel will support the School of Medicine though efforts to generate private philanthropic support for the institution. She will lead annual campaigns, donor relations, foundation and corporate relations, planned giving and will assist with major donor-related events. She will also oversee scholarship support programs and cultivate opportunities to keep UNR Med alumni engaged and connected to their alma mater.

Dr. Daniel Spogen appointed to American Board of Family Medicine Board of Directors

UNR Med Chair of Family and Community Medicine Daniel Spogen, M.D., has been appointed to the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) board of directors. The ABFM selects 18 of the nation's top family physicians to make up this prestigious board, and Dr. Spogen is the only physician from Nevada on the board and one of three members representing the western states.

Tessa Bowen joins Advancement and Engagement as Communications Manager

UNR Med's Advancement and Engagement team welcomes Tessa Bowen as communications manager. Bowen joined UNR Med Jan. 1, and will collaborate with faculty, staff, students and UNR Med community partners to lead national, statewide and local media efforts to increase awareness about the School of Medicine, its research, programs and faculty and student success stories. Bowen previously served as public relations and communications manager for the National Strategic Research Institute at the University of Nebraska.

One week remains to complete your 2017 faculty evaluation. Please visit the UNR Med specific faculty evaluation site. The chairs/supervisors of each department will determine their own evaluation due dates. All original and completed department packets are due to Stefani Richards by January 31, 2018.
