Graduate Medical Education Receives Annual Accreditation

UNR Med's Office of Graduate Medical Education has received annual accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). According to the ACGME website, "The goals of the process are to evaluate, improve, and publicly recognize graduate medical education programs and sponsoring institutions that are in substantial compliance with the standards of educational quality established by the ACGME."

"It is nice to have the institution be recognized for doing well," said Dr. Miriam Bar-on, associate dean for graduate medical education. "Maintaining annual accreditation as part of the Next Accreditation System without any new citations and commendation is a bonus. The program directors statewide need to be thanked for all of their hard work maintaining their training programs at a very high level."
