Tips for Living Your Best Life

A typical workday for Kim Quinn, Financial Services' chief financial officer for the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, includes a lot of time in her chair, analyzing UNR Med budgets, billing and spreadsheets. In her spare time, however, you won't find Quinn anywhere near a desk. Quinn's passion is riding, and she puts a tremendous amount of energy into training herself and her horse, SK Bed of Lillies, known around the barn as simply "Lillie."

UNR Med’s ‘Rural Ambassador’ Retires

For 29 years, Jamie Anderson has been the medical school's face in rural Nevada as she traveled among the state's small town communities building relationships with healthcare providers to ultimately develop a quality rural educational experience for generations of medical students.

And those students, most of whom are now practicing physicians, have been at the core of the relationships she has built over the course of her career at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.

Clinician’s Ceremony June 21

Join medical students, faculty and members of the health care community for the Class of 2019 Clinician's Ceremony, Wednesday, June 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the Joe Crowley Student Union Milt Glick Ballrooms. Parking is available in the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex. Please register for the Clinician's Ceremony by Wednesday, June 14.

UNR Med clinicians are encouraged to participate in the processional. Simply register in advance, bring your white coat and check in when you arrive to be directed to the staging area. The processional will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m.

UNR Med Seeks Creative Director

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) is conducting an internal recruitment for a Creative Director to join our Advancement and Engagement team. The Creative Director manages the visual identity for UNR Med branding, marketing and communications. Reporting to the Senior Director, Advancement and Engagement, the Creative Director is responsible for overseeing and creating the overall design and execution—from strategy to concept to implementation—of a wide variety of highly visible, strategic integrated marketing initiatives supporting the School's brand identity. As an integral leader of the UNR Med Advancement and Engagement team and direct partner with the Communications Marketing Director, the position manages a dedicated creative team that works to advance the strategic priorities and brand awareness, reputation and consistency across the School of Medicine and support its vision of "A Healthy Nevada." The Director maintains brand integrity throughout the School of Medicine; conceptualizes plans, models, and designs and oversees the development and production of print and electronic media (e.g. collateral, websites, email campaigns, TV/radio advertising, social media graphics, publications, etc.).
