Description:

  • Inpatient wards at UMC, which has a great diverse patient population and advanced pathology
  • Outpatient rotation at a primary care clinic in the valley with half day clinics in Rheumatology, GI and Endocrinology.

Call Requirements: while on wards, call with their team, stay until 9-10 p.m.

Assessment Methods: Your performance during the Internal Medicine clerkship will be evaluated by attendings and senior residents you work with, and by a written, standardized shelf examination.

Grading System: Final grades will be honors, high pass or pass.

Special advice from the Clerkship Director: Get 4 weekend days off per month while on wards (preset based on your team's call schedule), weekends and holidays off while on outpatient. Additional time off will be considered only for illness or emergency situations.
