Number of Weeks:  Inpatient and Outpatient (combined) 4

Description:  The Selective courses will provide medical students opportunities for career exploration and exposure to specialty choices that are not part of the core clerkships offered in the third year curriculum. For example, students may rotate through oncology, pediatric surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, urology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, bariatric surgery, endocrine surgery, vascular, ENT, and/or plastic surgery.

Assessment methods:  Your performance in the Selectives clerkship will be determined using your attending evaluations, participation, and a presentation.

Grading System:  Final grades will be pass or fail. 

Special advice from the Clerkship Director: Be prepared, read ahead, work hard, stay positive, participate, communicate, learn a lot, have a great time.
