Goals/Objectives

  • During the radiology rotation the student will gain experience in basic interpretation of radiographic imaging.
  • Students will understand the appropriate use of radiology studies in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. 
  • Students will understand the risks and benefits of common imaging studies. 
  • Students will develop fundamental skills in interpretation of imaging studies in certain core areas: Chest imaging, Skeletal imaging, Gastrointestinal imaging, Genitourinary imaging, Pediatric imaging.
  • Students will develop fundamental skills in emergency and neurological imaging.

Description of Rotation The 4th-year medical student will learn basic principles of radiology independently through reading and web-based materials. The student will have the opportunity for case discussions with Dr. Meservy during virtual meetings.
