Workday Security Access & Supervisory Organizations
Office of Operations and Financial Services
Workday is a cloud-based human resources and financial management system used by the Nevada System of Higher Education, including the School of Medicine. Workday is a single implementation system, meaning the structure and functionality is the same for all NSHE institutions and cannot be modified to meet needs of a single user or department.
Workday Security Access & Supervisory Organizations
Workday security access falls under two separate and distinct categories: human resources security roles and financial security roles. Workday security roles are assigned by position number and remain intact as employees transfer to and from different positions.
Human Resources Access
Access to human resources functions in Workday are assigned by supervisory organization. At the School of Medicine, these roles must be requested through the office of Operations and Financial Services. Human resources role requests are made by sending an email to Operations and Financial Services detailing the access required and justification for the request.

Financial access in Workday is granted by departmental cost center and cannot be tailored to a specific Worktag (gift, grant, program, or project). Cost center numbers can be found by searching a specific department or Worktag in Workday Tools. Financial Workday roles can be requested via TeamDynamix or by sending an email to Operations and Financial Services detailing the access required and the justification for the request.
