Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Patient Care

Parents concerned about their child's mental health or behavior can often feel overwhelmed and unsure where to turn. At the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, our child psychiatrists are here to help. Our board-certified physicians are dedicated to improving the mental health of children in Nevada and they develop impactful relationships with your family to provide the best possible care.

Our child psychiatry services and family counseling helps to address a broad spectrum of mental and emotional health problems including anti-social conduct, anxiety and mood disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, behavioral issues, depression, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, family problems and learning disorders. We start out by evaluating and diagnosing the situation, then work with you and your child to develop individualized treatment plans. We assist with medication management and are available to meet in individual or family therapy sessions.

All of our doctors are board-certified, university-based professionals. We will work together to determine the best treatment for your child using evidence-based treatment based on the latest research in the field. We offer the support your child needs while assisting them in accessing the tools in life to feel like valued members of society. Often times, children just need someone to talk to, or structure in their lives. The School of Medicine psychiatrists are available to provide the comfort children need to begin enjoying life again.
