University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine hematologists specialize in diagnosing and treating blood disorders. Our board-certified hematologists offer care for patients suffering from anemia, thrombocytopenia, bleeding and clotting disorders and other blood diseases or cancer.

Patients who are hospitalized or suffer from chronic illness are especially prone to hematologic problems. Our hematology specialists are skilled in recognizing abnormalities and identifying appropriate treatment plans. Our hematology services are offered within a multidisciplinary setting so patients receive comprehensive, individualized care. Some discussions with School of Medicine physicians can include end of life care, aggressiveness of care with incurable malignancies, hospice options and pain management plans. Hematologists at the School of Medicine are highly qualified to treat a diversity of patients from hospitalized patients with life-threatening syndromes to outpatient consultation to diagnose hematologic conditions.
