Biography
Leslie Golberg began her professional career in the public school setting employed by the Washoe County School District. She came to the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology as instructor and clinical supervisor in 1978 and obtained the position of Clinical Director for the student training program. Her research, teaching, and clinical interests are in fluency disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, assessment and methods of communication disorders, and clinical supervision. She developed clinical practicum handbooks for use within the training program that included information on clinical policies, evaluation, intervention, advisement, and certification. She worked closely with public education and health care facilities in coordinating the graduate externship program. Additionally, she is a specialist on the Referral List of the Stuttering Foundation of America for Nevada. Having served as president and secretary of the Nevada state association and president and secretary-treasurer of the Nevada licensure board, her endeavors include legislation significant to professionalism and ethics pertinent to the practitioner. Leslie retired from the University in 2013 as Emeritus Faculty. She continues her affiliation with the program by providing teaching and clinical supervision. Leslie has been married to her husband, Marc, for over 30 years and has one daughter, Emily.
