Application Screening Process

Applicants must meet all program Requirements and Prerequisites as well as submit all required documents before the program application deadline in order to be considered for faculty review. The initial screening will be done by the admission & recruitment coordinator.

Initial Screening Process

The admission & recruitment coordinator will screen all applications to verify all program perquisites have been met:

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.
  • Baccalaureate Degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning in the United States. (Currently, foreign degrees, including equivalency evaluations, do not satisfy the academic prerequisites)
  • Overall GPA 2.75 or above
  • Prerequisite courses met and grades B- or above
    • Human Anatomy and Physiology: 2 Semesters
    • General Biology: 1 Semester
    • General Chemistry: 1 Semester
    • General Statistics: 1 Semester
  • 2000 hours:  minimum paid, direct hand on patent care

In addition, the following documents are required in order for the application to be considered complete:

  • Official transcripts from every university or college attended
  • 3 Letters of reference
  • CV

Points will be assigned to applicants in the following areas that tie with the program mission and goals:

  • Nevada Resident
  • Armed Forces
  • Rural Nevada
  • Underserved
  • GPA 3.50 or above

Incomplete Application:

  • Applications that do not meet all the prerequisites or have outstanding documents are incomplete.
  • Applicants will be sent an email detailing missing/incomplete requirements and will not be considered for faculty review.
