Psychiatry Clerkship

Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences

Third-year medical students at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine will take part in a clerkship through the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This is a six-week program where students are able to integrate their biomedical and psychosocial approaches into patient care. Students join teams and spend two weeks at the Renown Health Consult and Liaison Service, two weeks at the VA Psychiatric Inpatient Unit, and two weeks at various sites within the community. They also participate in a number of didactic sessions that cover a diverse range of core psychiatric topics.
