Rotation Site Placement

Student Handbook, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences: Reno

Planning for rotational site placement is made on a yearly basis three to six months in advance of the start of the academic year. For example, during the January through March time period, for PGY-2 advancing residents, PGY-3 outpatient placements are determined for outpatient clinics. Assignments are made by the Program Director and attention will be paid to balance in training and specific advanced requests.

When determining placement of particular residents for future rotations, special consideration will be made for residents who have special training needs and/or career aspirations. These requests should be made in writing and submitted to the Program Director at least three months in advance of the academic year.

If accommodation to a resident’s request cannot be resolved with the training director, the matter will be addressed by the Residency Education Committee.
