The NPA Psychopharmacology Update provides comprehensive state-of-the-art information on the psychopharmacological treatment of psychiatric disorders most commonly encountered in clinical practice. The multi-day conference attracts more than 1,500 mental health clinicians. Each year, the NPA Conference Planning Committee assembles an outstanding group of internationally known faculty. The conference will cover psychopharmacology from the level of the neurotransmitter to best clinical practice models. It will address indications, contraindications, and management of adverse events. It includes a focus on complex and challenging conditions, atypical presentations and special populations through the life cycle. All topics are applicable to the practice of clinicians who prescribe psychotropic medications. Sessions and symposia are presented by internationally recognized faculty from the nation's leading institutions and are chosen because they are authorities on various topics at the forefront of modern psychiatry. At the end of the course, the attendee will be a more competent and knowledgeable practitioner of psychopharmacology.

Target Audience: Psychiatrists, Primary Care Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Psychiatric Nurses, Psychologists, and Physician Assistants. Other healthcare professionals treating patients with mental health disorders are welcome to attend and should check with their state licensing and certification boards to determine if the Psychopharmacology Update meets their continuing education requirements.
