Special Instructions
  • Sample may be stored up to 6 days at 2-8 ° C.
  • Centrifuge and remove serum from clot as soon as possible and before storing. Transfer separated serum/plasma into labeled plastic transport tube.
  • If need to store longer than 6 days, serum may be frozen at -20° C or colder.
  • Specimens with precipitate should be clarified by centrifugation.
  • Do not use heat-inactivated specimens.
  • Notify Laboratory if cadaver specimen is collected.
  • Notify Laboratory if specimen contains sodium azide.
Shipping Requirements Store and ship at refrigerated temperature 2-8° C.

  • Grossly Lipemic specimen
  • Gross Hemolysis
  • Mislabeled/Unlabeled specimen
  • Heat-inactivated specimens
  • Specimen quantity not sufficient for testing (QNS)
  • Specimens that contain sodium azide.
