Emergency preparedness
Ready to respond statewide
As Nevada’s designated CDC Laboratory Response Network laboratory for biological and chemical threats, the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory plays a key role in emergency preparedness and response. The laboratory is recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for leadership in pathogen sequencing and bioinformatics, supporting the rapid identification of known and emerging public health threats.
NSPHL works closely with local and state agencies, health care providers, water authorities, tribal health organizations and federal partners, including the CDC, FDA and EPA. These partnerships strengthen public health surveillance and support rapid response to outbreaks, natural disasters and other emergencies, helping ensure communities across Nevada have access to critical public health testing and expertise.
