University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine students and faculty members are extremely grateful for body donations. An anatomical donation provides invaluable learning experiences that further enhance the education our medical students receive. In effort to show appreciation and pay respects, the School of Medicine holds an annual memorial service for the previous year's donors.
First year medical students conduct this service to show their appreciation and gratitude for the invaluable educational experience provided by the donation. The memorial service is conducted at a local funeral home in June each year. Formal invitations are sent out to the relatives and friends of the deceased. Family and friends of all donors are invited to share memories and help with the healing process.
