The Student Outreach Clinic provides free medical services to Northern Nevada's uninsured and underinsured communities, addressing a range of health concerns. Under the guidance of licensed physicians, our medical students gain valuable hands-on experience while offering vital care to individuals who might otherwise go without. Our clinics offer screenings, lab work, x-rays and other services, helping to improve health outcomes and expand access to quality care.
The Sanford Center for Aging is dedicated to improving the quality of life and well-being of older adults through education, research and community outreach. Our volunteer-based programs provide essential support to adults over 60 in Washoe County who have limited access to social support and transportation. We also offer specialized education for health care professionals, faculty, students and caregivers, all with the goal of enhancing elder care and enriching the lives of seniors in our community.
Our clinics deliver high-quality speech-language pathology and audiology services to the Northern Nevada community. We address a wide range of needs, including cleft palate, aphasia, swallowing disorders and more. We also provide comprehensive training for graduate student clinicians, who gain valuable hands-on experience under the supervision of certified speech-language pathologists and audiologists, ensuring they are well-prepared for their professional careers.
The Nevada State Public Health Laboratory (NSPHL) offers comprehensive diagnostic and analytical services, including essential newborn screening, infectious disease surveillance, foodborne outbreak analysis, and evaluations of biological and chemical threats. Acting as a frontline defense, NSPHL swiftly identifies public health threats and supports state and national disease prevention programs and environmental health initiatives.
