Why UNR Med?
The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program provides comprehensive training across the full spectrum of women’s health, offering residents broad clinical exposure while supporting individualized career interests within OB/GYN. As a community-based program, residents work closely with faculty, multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and medical students, developing strong clinical, leadership, and teaching skills in a collaborative learning environment.
Through its primary clinical site, Renown Health, and partnerships with organizations such as Planned Parenthood, Center of Hope, and Nevada Center for Reproductive Medicine, residents gain diverse experience in family planning, reproductive health, infertility care, and complex obstetric and gynecologic management. The program combines academic rigor with high-volume, hands-on training and a mentorship-driven culture, ensuring graduates develop the confidence, competence, and compassion needed to become leaders in women’s health and serve the Northern Nevada community.
