Serving Northern Nevada since 1996
The Student Outreach Clinic at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine provides free, high-quality medical care to uninsured and underinsured individuals across Northern Nevada. Operated by medical students under the direct supervision of licensed physicians, the SOC offers both primary and specialty care through a variety of clinics designed to meet the needs of diverse populations.
Since its founding, the SOC has been dedicated to improving healthcare access while training the next generation of compassionate, community-minded healthcare professionals. According to County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, as recently as 2022, 13% of Washoe County residents lacked health insurance, underscoring the persistent barriers to care that leave thousands without access to preventive services, chronic disease management, or even basic medical attention. The SOC exists to help close that gap.
