Memories and Anecdotes
Scully details some anecdotes chronologically, including one of his father, angered by the attack on Pearl Harbor, breaking Japanese Christmas decorations. Scully shares some memories of living in New Rochelle, including his father golfing, growing a victory garden, attending a dancing class, and working in Alaska. He also talks about several experiences in college, including working with an inspiring professor, joining the school's a cappella men's group and anxieties over being drafted.

Memories from College and Travel
Scully continues with some additional memories, including life in his Sigma Nu fraternity house and experiences in medical school. He details issues with other physician's alcohol abuse, rattlesnake bites, and other medical issues Scully faced while going through medical school. Scully also goes over some of his earlier adult experiences, including his time in Spain and Las Vegas.
