Renown Health is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Renown Neuroscience Symposium at Renown Regional Medical Center. This two-day course will focus on Advances in Neuroscience and include topics on advances in revascularization techniques, acute changes in stroke, neurosurgical advances, stroke rehabilitation, MMA embolization and pharmacology in new anticoagulation medication. This is a live, in-person event with an option to participate virtually.

Learning Objectives

Following the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Determine the impact on cerebrovascular disease on patient care both in an acute care and chronic center

  • Recognize the importance of neurointerventional techniques in various clinical stroke cases
  • Examine the implications of stroke rehabilitation to recovery of function
  • Review the methods of secondary stroke prevention
  • Explain the importance of capillary networks to tissue perfusion and stroke care
  • Recognize risk factors for hemorrhagic conversion of ischemic stroke
  • Review indications for neurosurgical and endovascular management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
  • Explain the principles and pathways of advances in acute stroke therapies in the setting of an acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
  • Outline the spectrum of neurological complications after ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke and review treatment options and prognosis
