The Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) department strives to provide high-quality, compassionate health care to women and their families. As an important resource for the community and Northern Nevada region, we are committed to educating and training the next generation of healthcare professionals. The OB/GYN department is the leader of women’s health care in Northern Nevada. Together, we advance evidence-based care for pregnancy, gynecologic surgery and other areas of health that affect women. Located in the heart of Reno, Nevada, our main campus and offices are located at Renown Regional Medical Center. We also offer additional teaching and research facilities on the UNR Med campus.
Our department offers a range of services to improve women’s health care in Northern Nevada and beyond. With a talented group of faculty and world-class facilities, we are proud to actively train and educate the next generation of women’s health providers in our region.

UNR Med and Renown Health are developing Northern Nevada’s first OB/GYN residency program to expand access to high quality, evidence based women’s health care. The program anticipates participating in the NRMP 2027-2028 cycle, with an expected start date of July 1, 2027.

UNR Med and Renown Health have a long-standing partnership to offer our students access to passionate and knowledgeable physicians in a world-class facility. Together, UNR Med and Renown Health have created an integrated OB/GYN department to enhance women’s health care in Northern Nevada.
